Individual Therapist · Singapore

Space that's
entirely yours.

One-on-one therapy with a SAC-registered therapist in Singapore. Evidence-based, warm, and unhurried. In person at Havelock Road or online via Zoom.

What it is

Therapy that starts with where you are, not where you should be.

Individual therapy is a confidential, dedicated space to explore what's happening in your life, with a trained therapist in Singapore who is genuinely curious about you, not your diagnosis. Sessions are 60 minutes, by appointment, and paced entirely to your needs.

Nidhi draws on several evidence-based modalities depending on what you're working with. None of them are used rigidly: the therapeutic relationship and your lived experience always come first. The framework is a tool, not a script.

What makes a good individual therapist in Singapore? First, verified credentials — look for SAC-Certified Counsellor status or equivalent. Second, an approach that matches your situation: CBT and ACT for anxiety and depression, person-centred and psychodynamic work for longer-standing patterns and identity questions. Third, and most importantly, a relationship where you feel genuinely heard. Nidhi offers a free 30-minute first conversation for exactly this reason — so you can assess the fit before committing to anything.

Approaches used

Evidence-based modalities, in plain English

CBTCognitive Behavioural Therapy

The most extensively researched psychological therapy in the world. CBT explores the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, helping you notice unhelpful patterns and develop more workable responses. Particularly effective for anxiety and depression.

ACTAcceptance and Commitment Therapy

ACT helps you build psychological flexibility: the ability to feel difficult emotions without being controlled by them, and to move towards the life that matters to you even in the presence of discomfort. Powerful for burnout, chronic stress, and values clarification.

Person-CentredPerson-Centred Therapy

Developed by Carl Rogers, this approach holds that the therapeutic relationship itself is healing. Warmth, unconditional positive regard, and empathy create the conditions in which people naturally move towards their own growth. Often most helpful early in therapy.

PsychodynamicPsychodynamic Therapy

Explores how early experiences, relationships, and unconscious patterns shape present behaviour. Used selectively, particularly helpful when the same patterns keep showing up in different contexts and more surface-level work hasn't been enough.

Common concerns

What people bring to individual sessions

Anxiety & worry

Depression & low mood

Burnout & exhaustion

Work stress

Life transitions

Relationship difficulties

Grief & loss

Identity & self-worth

Trauma

Sleep difficulties

Perfectionism

The feeling something is off but you can't name it

A named condition is not required to benefit from therapy. Many clients come because something feels persistently difficult, not because they have a diagnosis.

What to expect

What happens in a session?

01

First session

An extended conversation about what brings you here, what you're hoping for, and any relevant background. Nidhi listens far more than she speaks. There are no forms to fill before you arrive. The first session is about beginning to understand each other.

02

Ongoing sessions

Sessions usually begin with where you are right now: this week, this moment. From there, the conversation moves where it needs to. There will be structured exercises or frameworks at times; at other times it's simply a deeply attentive conversation. Both are therapy.

03

Between sessions

Sometimes there will be something small to try or notice between sessions: an observation, a breathing practice, a question to sit with. Never homework in the punishing sense. More: material for the next conversation.

From Nidhi

“The first session is different from what most people expect. There are no forms to fill, no questionnaire to work through, no intake checklist. I want to know where you are right now: what's hard, what you're hoping for, and a little of how you got here. From there, we figure out together what kind of work might actually help. That conversation usually tells us more than any assessment tool would.”

What clients say

I came in completely burned out after two years in finance. Within six sessions I had a framework for what was happening and why. The Walk & Talk sessions at MacRitchie were something I didn't know I needed.

J.T.

Finance professional, Singapore

As an expat who moved here without a network, finding Nidhi was a turning point. She understood the specific loneliness of building a life from scratch in a city that looks perfect from the outside.

S.M.

Expat from the UK, 3 years in Singapore

I'd tried therapy before and it felt clinical and distant. This was completely different. The first session I felt genuinely heard, not assessed.

A.L.

Marketing manager, 31
